Carmit was born in Rehovot, Israel, a popular wine destination in that region speckled with wineries and vineyards. How ironic is it her parents would name her Carmit as well. In Hebrew, Carmit comes from the word, Kerem, which means vineyard. She was destined to be a winemaker. Since a child, Carmit was surrounded by the science and business of making wine. In fact, her grandparents, with the family name, Habibi, were one of the very first winegrowers to settle in her home town in 1880.
Overall, in competition with the best in the industry world-wide, winning awards both locally and internationally, Israeli wines have contributed greatly as an important wine producing region. Driving along the winding roads through the forests and vineyards, you may find easily “Wine Route of Israel”, an area rich in the history of making wine, for thousands of years.
Awe… Now that final stretch is close to the bottling, we all await to take our wine to market. Only we know at this moment the potential. This waiting period is like no other, for temperature and mixture, aging liquid and oak metamorphoses will judge the final process. I can’t wait a moment longer to taste a glass of my fine wine come to pass, mine to share for the market to bare.

There are vineyards all over the world and I intend on finding the best of each culture. Like anything that grows and nurtures, the gems come from the pride and joy one has in heart and mind. From the water to soil and sun, grows the quality grape that can equate to ultimate bottle of wine.
After a long weekend in Napa, Carmit Becker settled back in Los Angeles with two recommendations from two small family owned vineyards. “It’s nice to know the passion still exist. With all the mega businesses out there, it was a pleasant surprise to find the bottles I found.”
